Apache mod_rewrite and Temporary URLs

Apache’s mod_rewrite module is installed and configured on all Rochen servers by default.

However, please note that mod_rewrite will not function using a temporary access URL and will only work with a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN). Your domain name will need to be pointed towards Rochen’s server before mod_rewrite will function. Note: If you have installed Joomla using the Rochen Joomla Utilities you can use SEF URLs on your temporary access URL.

Functions within many popular scripts take advantage of mod_rewrite (e.g. Search Engine Friendly (SEF) URLs under Joomla). You should ensure such functions remain disabled until your domain name fully resolves to the Rochen server.
