Secure FTP (FTPS) is available on all Rochen servers by default. FTPS provides end-to-end encryption for all data you transfer between your local client machine and the server. It also encrypts the sending of your username and password when establishing the FTP connection.<\/p>\n

We would advise using FTPS whenever possible as it is far more secure than regular FTP where your username, password and data are sent in clear text to the server.<\/p>\n

A few FTP clients which support FTPS include:<\/p>\n

FileZilla Client<\/h3>\n

a free cross-platform download available from\u00a0http:\/\/filezilla-project.org<\/a>\u00a0(recommended)<\/p>\n

In order to connect using FTPS with FileZilla simply enter your FTP details as normal in the Site Manager and then click the drop down “Encryption:” listbox and select “Require explicit FTP over TLS” to enable FTPS mode.<\/p>\n

SmartFTP<\/h3>\n

CuteFTP Pro<\/h3>\n

There are additional FTP clients available which support the FTPS protocol as well.\u00a0 A basic Google Search will bring up many results.<\/p>\n
