This article covers using Let&#8217;s Encrypt SSL via AutoSSL in cPanel.<\/p>\n<p>When you add a domain to an existing cPanel or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochen.com\/docs\/documentation\/site-booster-resource-upgrade\/\">create a new cPanel account<\/a>, AutoSSL runs automatically and secures your site with a free SSL certificate.<\/p>\n<h3>Important note about DNS<\/h3>\n<p>Your domain&#8217;s DNS must already be pointed for a seamless Let&#8217;s Encrypt SSL via AutoSSL setup. As such, we recommend that you update your domain with Rochen nameservers at your registrar <strong>before<\/strong> adding the domain to your account.<\/p>\n<p>If you can&#8217;t assign your nameservers first, don&#8217;t worry. Subdomains that do not resolve to your account should be excluded by clicking the &#8216;Exclude from AutoSSL&#8217; link. This will prevent unnecessary &#8216;SSL renewal warning&#8217; emails for those domains.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Troubleshooting Let&#8217;s Encrypt SSL via AutoSSL<\/h3>\n<p>If you are unable to access your site over HTTPS, but the <strong>SSL\/TLS Status<\/strong> page doesn&#8217;t indicate any issues, you can use an online checker to confirm the SSL has been successfully applied.<\/p>\n<p>We recommend the following checker. It offers a basic test but allows you to specify the TCP port you want to check. <a href=\"https:\/\/ssltools.digicert.com\/checker\/views\/checkInstallation.jsp\">https:\/\/ssltools.digicert.com\/checker\/views\/checkInstallation.jsp<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For example, entering &#8216;rochentesting.com:443&#8217; (domain:port) checks regular HTTPS access for web browsing.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to verify that the SSL is working correctly for IMAP and SMTP, then you can specify ports 993 or 465.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1806 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rochen.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/digicheck.png\" alt=\"digicert SSL certificate checker screenshot\" width=\"989\" height=\"629\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rochen.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/digicheck.png 989w, https:\/\/www.rochen.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/digicheck-300x191.png 300w, https:\/\/www.rochen.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/digicheck-768x488.png 768w, https:\/\/www.rochen.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/digicheck-50x32.png 50w, https:\/\/www.rochen.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/digicheck-60x38.png 60w, https:\/\/www.rochen.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/digicheck-100x64.png 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 989px) 100vw, 989px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the <strong>Certificate Chain<\/strong> tab, &#8216;R3&#8217; is the intermediate used by Let&#8217;s Encrypt.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Re-installing a Certificate<\/h3>\n<p>A manual update is a possible solution if you&#8217;re having a problem with the certificate chain.<\/p>\n<p>A quick tool for viewing and downloading recent SSL certificates for your domain is available at <a href=\"https:\/\/crt.sh\/\">https:\/\/crt.sh\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>1) Enter your domain in the <strong>Search<\/strong> field.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1807\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rochen.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/crtsh.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"947\" height=\"715\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rochen.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/crtsh.png 947w, https:\/\/www.rochen.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/crtsh-300x227.png 300w, https:\/\/www.rochen.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/crtsh-768x580.png 768w, https:\/\/www.rochen.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/crtsh-50x38.png 50w, https:\/\/www.rochen.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/crtsh-60x45.png 60w, https:\/\/www.rochen.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/crtsh-100x76.png 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 947px) 100vw, 947px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After entering your domain, the site will provide a historical log view of its SSLs.
