Rochen customers protected against Joomla exploit, but should still update to version 3.4.5

Joomla 3.4.5 was released by Joomla today to address a critical security vulnerability. Rochen encourages all customers to update as soon as possible. The vulnerability is extremely serious and can result in a complete site compromise, stolen login details, malicious file uploads etc. Rochen has proactively deployed custom Web Application Firewall (WAF) rules to help protect our customers running Joomla 3.4.4 and earlier versions affected by this critical security vulnerability, first announced last week and patched today in 3.4.5. Dedicated IP addresses no longer required for SSL sites on Rochen’s newest hosting platforms

Previously anytime an account was setup with an SSL certificate it required a dedicated IP address to properly function. Not only did this incur a monthly fee for the customer, but as IPv4 space is rapidly depleting, web hosting providers like Rochen need to be doing everything we can to conserve usage. Rochen’s new Premium Web Hosting and Managed Cloud Server (MCS) platforms takes advantage of a technology called Server Name Indication (SNI). Single hosting plan, multiple PHP versions

As we touched on in our last blog post: "Introducing our new shared hosting platform", Rochen now provides multiple versions of PHP. We provide PHP 5.3 through 5.6 with PHP 5.4 being the default. This is especially useful for developers, allowing multiple sites under a single premium web hosting plan to use different PHP versions.
